Pneuma for Chrome: privacy

What the Pneuma browser extension reads, sends and keeps.

Overview

This page explains how the Pneuma extension for Google Chrome (“Extension”) handles Your data. The Extension is made by Northern Star Technology Private Limited (“NS”, “We”, “Us” or “Our”), which runs pneuma.club. Our Privacy Policy covers Your Pneuma account and the data We hold. This page adds what is specific to the Extension.

Where it works

The Extension can read pages only on these sites, and it reads only their flight results:

  • Google Flights (www.google.com/travel/flights)
  • Skyscanner (www.skyscanner.co.in and www.skyscanner.net)
  • SmartBuy (offers.reward360.in)

It cannot read any other website. It also connects to pneuma.club, to sign You in and to get the miles prices it shows.

What it reads

On a flight results page, the Extension reads:

  • from the page address: the route, travel date, cabin and number of passengers;
  • for each flight shown: the airline, flight numbers, departure and arrival times, stops, layover times and price.

It does not read Your bookings or any account You hold with these sites. It does not read Your Google account or Your Chrome profile. You sign in to Pneuma in a Chrome sign-in window, and the Extension never sees Your password.

What it sends to Pneuma

When You are signed in, the Extension sends Pneuma, over an encrypted (https) connection:

  • the site You are on, and the route, travel date and cabin;
  • for each flight on screen: the airline, flight numbers, departure and arrival times, stops and layover times, so We can show a miles price next to it;
  • when a live check runs (on its own on the Pro plan, or when You tap “Check live”): the route, travel date and cabin. A live check is a Pneuma search on Your account. It is saved to Your search history and counts towards Your plan, like a search on pneuma.club;
  • to show which of Your cards can pay for a flight: the frequent flyer programs on screen. Pneuma replies with the cards and points balances saved to Your account.

The prices shown on these sites stay in Your browser. The Extension uses them only to work out the value of a mile on Your screen, and does not send them to Us.

Links from the Extension to pneuma.club are marked as coming from the Extension, so We can count them.

What it keeps in Your browser

  • Your sign-in with Pneuma, and the Extension’s registration with Pneuma, in the Extension’s own storage on this computer.
  • Your plan and how many live checks You have left, so the toolbar window opens quickly.
  • Your “Show on” switches, which turn the Extension on or off for each site. Chrome may sync these to other computers where You are signed in to Chrome.
  • A short summary of the results page in each open tab: the route, date, cabin and how many flights. Chrome deletes these when You close it.

The Extension sets no cookies, keeps no browsing history, has no analytics or advertising code, and does not follow You across websites.

What We do with it

What the Extension sends is handled under Our Privacy Policy, like Your use of pneuma.club. We do not sell it and We do not use it for advertising.

Removing the Extension

  • To remove it, right-click the Pneuma icon in Chrome’s toolbar and choose “Remove from Chrome”, or open chrome://extensions and press Remove on Pneuma. Chrome then deletes what the Extension kept on this computer, including Your sign-in.
  • To delete what Pneuma holds about You, including Your search history, email hello@pneuma.club from the email address on Your account, as Our Privacy Policy explains.

Changes and contact

If the Extension starts reading, sending or keeping anything new, We will update this page and its date. Questions: hello@pneuma.club.
